Did you know that nearly 80% of Americans don't get the recommended amount of physical activity? According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, this lack of movement contributes to higher rates of chronic disease and impacts the health of millions of people every year.

The good news? It's never too late to start moving!

Regular exercise is one of the most effective ways to prevent and manage many common health conditions, including:

  • Heart disease

  • Diabetes

  • Arthritis

  • Sleep disorders

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Low energy and reduced mobility

How Much Exercise Do You Need?

Current physical activity guidelines recommend:

Preschoolers (Ages 3–5):

  • At least 3 hours of physical activity throughout the day.

Children & Teens (Ages 6–17):

  • At least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity every day.

Adults:

  • At least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity each week, plus muscle-strengthening activities on two or more days per week.

Older Adults (65+):

  • The same recommendations as adults, with the addition of balance exercises to help reduce the risk of falls.
